This was painted some time ago - I was going for a fairly flat, graphic depiction of the church and I liked it but it needed something. The church and the sky seemed too flat so I added the surreal clouds swirly up from behind and I like the mystical effect they add.

This small painting is another one that I did some time ago but just added the foreground bushes - it didn't look right without anything in front. Sometimes I have to live with them for awhile before I can figure out what they need.
